With LR4 if I export JPEG files and then upload them to a Facebook album, the copyright and caption appear in the Facebook description automatically. However, files created wtih LR5 are not working...

Check your LR 5 Export Dialog - Metadata Session. What is your Include: set to? The last two choices (beginning with "All" must be selected for this data to make it into your exported file.

It is set to Include All Metadata. As indicated, the information is there if I look at the picture with Windows Photo Viewer. however, Facebook isn't picking up the caption and copyright information...

Have you tried exporting from LR 4 since Facebook made their much-bungled changes last week? Or is that experience in LR 4 older than that?

Very interesting. I just tried with LR4 and it didn't include the copyright and caption. I guess whatever Facebook did coincided with the timing of my upgrade. I was not aware of the Facebook...
